Richard Joseph touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kenneth and Charlotte Ireland (Mayrand); his former wife Betty Pennock; his son John Ireland; his grandson Jordan Knight; and his sister Sandra Lyford.

He is survived by: his children, Lynne Ireland-Knight (Wade), Kelly Ireland-Pratt (Patricia), Meghan Ireland and Barbara Ireland; his grandchildren, Gared Knight, Claira McElory, Raymond McElory, Lindsay McElory, Isaac Sargent, Alex Sargent, Aidan Yager, Liam Warren and Aisling Warren; his great grandchildren, Rowan Knight and Ryett Knight; and his sister Jacqueline Walker (Greg).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Richard's memory be made to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413.

“Dick was a great guy, we worked together in the early 1980’s. He had a great sense of humor. I enjoyed pranking him almost as much as he enjoyed pranking on me. Just thinking of him brings a smile to my face. He was well respected by everyone who knew him, and will be greatly missed. Bob Kane”
