He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Cavalier and Frances Cavalier (Vivacci); his siblings, John (Mary Cavalier), Anthony "Toto" (Linda Cavalier) and Eleanor Salerno; and his brothers-in-law, Carmen Caruso and Anthony Comito.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Rolchigo; his children, Phyllis Cavalier, Nicholas "Nicky Nervous" Cavalier III, Joseph Cavalier and Bella Palewski; his grandsons, Joseph, Angelo and Salvatore Cavalier; his sister Catherine Caruso; his sisters-in-law, Donna Comito and Debbie Comito; his godchildren, Margaret Graniero and Joseph Coco; his cousins, Debbie Smith and Gail Staib; his friends, Phil Geraci and Michael Coco; and also Dianne Cavalier Groth. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
