It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael C. Parnell (Utica, New York), born in Watertown, New York, who passed away on December 2, 2021, at the age of 45, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, David G. Parnell and Joanne F. Parnell (Clarke); his mother-in-law Louise Kelly; and his cousin Terry O'Brien. He is survived by: his wife Catherine Kelly; his father-in-law Robert Kelly; his sister-in-law Elizabeth Hackett (Peter); his aunt Patricia M. Johnson; and his cousins, Todd Johnson (Kate), Paige O'Brien, Troy Johnson (Hillary), Erin Girard (Tim), Trevor Johnson and Elizabeth Rice. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Parnell's name may be made to a fund to be set up through the Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association.

“I'm so sorry to hear of Michael's illness and passing. Please accept my condolence for your loss. Michael was in my third grade class. I remember him liking the tacco lunch we had. I remember he didn't really like cutting up the onions but the task was finished with teary eyes. He was a typical boy who loved gym and recess. He will be missed by many people because he was friends to many.”
