Joseph P. Handzel Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph P. Handzel (Utica, New York), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 12, 2025 at the age of 98. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joseph P. Handzel to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his siblings, Bartholomew and Magdalena Handzel (Handzel); his wife Helen V. Zagraniczny; his siblings, Adam Handzel (Joan), Walter Handzel (Jenny), Francis Handzel (Gladys) and Mary Kaczor (Mathew); and his in-laws, Walter Pawloski, Joseph, Regina Zagraniczny, Mary Zagraniczny, Stella and Stanley Romas.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Handzel (Doris) and Carol Schulze; his grandchildren, Lisa Jackson (Justin), Kari Schiano (Michael), Dr. Michele Handzel (Adam Roeder), Andrew Schulze (Karen Chartrand) and Bradley Schulze; and his great grandchildren, Paul and Clara Jackson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Myslinski, Kowalczyk & Nunn Funeral Directors (470 French Rd, Utica, NY 13502). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church (1206 Lincoln Ave, Utica, NY 13502).
