He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph J., Sr. and Palmina Nitti (Martelli); his siblings, Clara Mae Nitti (Jernigan), Alfonso (Trudy Nitti), Dominick (Marie Nitti) and Ralph (Patti Nitti); his parents-in-law, Gerald and Louise Trotta (DeJoseph); his in-laws, Gerald A. "Jerry" II, Bonnie Trotta and Carmelita Nitti; and his nephews, James Pavone, Scott Hoffman and Gerald A. "Pepe" Trotta III.
He is survived by: his wife Rita; his children, Jerriann (Robert "Bob" Calenzo), Renee M. Nitti-Welpe (Joseph J. III) and Tiffany Nitti (Vincent M. Nitti); his grandchildren, Nicholas, Chloe Calenzo, Anthony J. Calenzo, Lauren Griggs, Sarah and Anthony "AJ" Schirripa; his great grandchildren, Giuliana Rose Calenzo and Anthony J. Calenzo; his siblings, Rose (Thomas Tallarino), Delores Melita (late Mark Melita) and Richard Nitti; his in-laws, Marie Luce (late Louis R. Luce, Sr.), Vincent, Rosalind Trotta, Frank and Gloria Trotta; and his close friends, Sandy and George Salem. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins.
