He was predeceased by: his parents, Dominick Montanaro and Amelia Montanaro (Liuzzi); his sisters, Angela Piacenti (Mark A.) and Lucille DeMarco (Thomas); and his parents-in-law, Maria, Rosina, Vincenzo, Dominick, Pasquale, Maurice Putrello (Concetta) and William I. George.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret Putrelo; his children, Dominick P. Montanaro (Barbara), Joseph A. Montanaro and Amelia R. Massi (Anthony); his grandchildren, Brenda Wilmshurst (Don), Frank Massi (Jaclyn), Valerie Dalton (Joshua), Maria Massi, Joseph A. J. and John Montanaro; his great grandchildren, Mason Sparks and Maximus Massi; and his siblings-in-law, Joseph L. Putrelo (Benita "Sue") and Fanny George. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
