He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Bates and Jane Bates; and his siblings, Ernest Paul Bates, Lucille Mariott and Raymond Bates.
He is survived by: his daughter Sara; his siblings, Mark Bates (Laurie) and Pamela LaRock (William); his sisters-in-law, Bernie and Josie Bates; and his aunt June Taylor. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A graveside service will be held at Kirkland Cemetery, French Rd, Clinton, NY at 10:30 a. m. Wednesday October 14, 2020, family and friends must adhere to covid restrictions.
