He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennis McCarthy and Doris McCarthy (Banker); his son-in-law Dennis Cahill; and his parents-in-law, Harry Ritchie, Dick Lupia, Jean McCarthy, Thomas Mulchy and Kathleen Mulchay.
He is survived by: his wife Carol A. Gossin; his children, Mary Cahill of Deerfield, Dennis (Denise McCarthy), Clare (Kyle Burth), Bridget Korrie of Kayuta Lake, Michael (Kristina McCarthy), Patricia (David Hauser) and Kathleen McCarthy (Scott Murdock); his grandchildren, Maren, Jason Schenandoah, Sean McCarthy, Brett Korrie, Devin, Katlin Korrie, Colleen Burth, Sara Korrie, Sloan Jack, Shannon Burth, Erin McCarthy, Evan McCarthy, Maura Potter and Dylan Hauser; his great grandchildren, Gerald and Artio; his siblings, Joanne Ritchie of Camillus, Kay Lupia of Rochester and Edward McCarthy of Utica; his parents-in-law, Edward "Buddy", Timothy, Mary Mulchy of Altamont, NY and Francine Mulchy of Utica; and his pet Griffin. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
