It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John A. Yntema of Utica, New York, who passed away on July 29, 2021, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his son-in-law Martin Griffin; his parents-in-law, Rhea and Garrett Obrien; his brother Bill; his sister-in-law Mary Louise Yedkois; and his close friends, Sharon Meyer, Henry Sheppard, Jadon Barton and Jack.

He is survived by: his wife Carole; his daughters, Linda Vandewater (Bob) of New Hartford, Joyce Ryan and Mary Carole Griffin of New Hartford; his grandchildren, Kayla Cocquyt (Greg) of Cazenovia, Daniel Ryan of Liverpool, Abby Griffin and Connor Griffin of New Hartford; and his friend Cynthia Ryan.
