It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan M. Defuria (Utica, New York), who passed away on November 17, 2020, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her brother David Scalise. She is survived by: her children, Sara N. McBride (Justin), Anthony DeFuria and Jill Lemons (Dominic); her grandchildren, Jaida, Vincent, Cora McBride, Jackson DeFuria, Dominic and Riyan Lemons; her siblings, Mary Peters, Lucretia Scalise, Susan Scalise (Douglas Leaf), Salvatore "Sam" Scalise and Benjamin F. Scalise, Jr. (Karen); her nieces and nephews, David Peters (Megan), Justin Peters (Emie), Michael Scalise (Alaina), Elena Scalise, Bethany Rickard (Ron) and Annie Kane (Adam); her mother-in-law Cathy Seminaro (Guy); her close friend Camille Recanati Loge; and also Lucretia. She is also survived by great-nieces, and great-nephews.
