It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jane F. Metzger of Utica, New York, born in Syracuse, New York, who passed away on July 1, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William Patrick Flaherty and Myrtle Katherine Harris; her husband Paul Metzger of Utica; and her son William B. Dance III. She is survived by: her former husband William B. Dance Jr.; her children, Scott Dance of Utica and Leslie; her son-in-law Thomas Reilly of Utica; her son Steven Metzger; her daughter-in-law Jenny Champeau of Rochester; her grandchildren, Patrick, Kate Metzger and Eugene Falvo; her stepgrandchildren, Ellie Cornmire (Matthew) and Thomas Reilly; her pet Teddy; and also, Emma, Madisson and Ella.

In lieu of flowers, friends may consider a donation to Players of Utica or Anita's Steven Swan Humane Society in Jane's memory.
