It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Joseph Grimes Jr. of Utica, New York, born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, who passed away on March 4, 2023, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Lewis and Bettye Marie Grimes (Johnson); and his siblings, Henry Grimes and Betty Jackson. He is survived by: his sons, Joe and Jimmy Joe Grimes; and his siblings, Johnnie Grimes (Hazel), Oscar Grimes (Kelly), Raymond Harris, Cindy Lacy and Julia Marie Johnson of Love Joy, GA.. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
