He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James H. Gaffney and Margaret Gaffney (Schilz); his spouse Alyce M. Manzinger; his children, Lynda Schrader (Carl) of Marcy, Cynthia Symonds (Clifford) of New Hartford, James D. Gaffney Jr. and Liz Thomas of Utica; his grandchildren, James D. Gaffney III (Lindsay) of Mexico, NY, Nina Cosamano (Anthony) of Marcy, Philip Casamento (Jessica) of Barneveld, Karl Schrader of Utica and Jennifer Schrader of Marcy; his sister Betty Jane Murtaugh of Holland Patent; his sisters-in-law, Patricia Gaffney of North Utica and Charlene Gaffney of Texas; his daughter Susan Casamento; his grandson Enzo Casamento; his siblings, John Gaffney (Jack), William Gaffney and Peggy Orban; and his daughter-in-law Linda Gaffney. He was also cherished by six great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
