He was predeceased by: his brothers, Alfred Zakris and Ida Zakris; and his siblings-in-law, John Zakris, Harry Otto and Edward Kinsellas.

He is survived by: his parents, Anthony Zakris and Josephine Zakris (Planchunas); his children, Mary Ann Zakris, Christina Zakris, Francis J. Zakris, Mills Dodge, Marie Dodge of Newport and Paul P. Zakris; his siblings-in-law, Mae Zakris of Louisiana, Diane Julian of Westmoreland and Robert Kinsella of Utica; and his friend Mary Wojnas. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
