She was predeceased by: her parents, Stenson Thomas and Cora Mae Thomas (West); and her siblings, Essie Mae McKenzie, Stenson Thomas, Jr., Willie James Thomas, Emanuel Thomas and Pauline Alexander.

She is survived by: her husband Donald O'Brien; her daughter Jacqueline O. Peterson; her grandchildren, James D., Kyle, Nieco, Jada, Molley and Caroline; her great grandchildren, Amora and Tristan; her siblings, Edis Decker, Bernice Costner, Elois White and John Thomas; and her nieces and nephews, Ambrosia and Greg Thomas. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
