He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernesto Montanez, Sr. and Clare Melendez; his uncles, Jose Montanez, Sr., Domingo Montanez and Fernando Montanez; his aunt Nereida Montanez; and his friend Billy Colon.
He is survived by: his daughter Marissa; his girlfriend Elizabeth; his children, Edwin "Eddie" Montanez, Jr., Elexis "Lex" Frank, Melissa Montanez, Joshua Montanez, Antonio Conklin, Miguel Montanez and Angelica Montanez; his brothers, Ernesto Montanez Jr., Jose Montanez, Sr. (Wendy) and Eduardo (Lillian Montanez); and his extended family, Maureen Montanez and Warren Kemph. He is also survived by his many grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
