It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alfred M. Gorney Jr. (Utica, New York), who passed away on September 10, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred, Sr. Gorney and Rosa Gorney (Isenor); and his sister Francess Wright. He is survived by: his wife Mary; his daughter Christine; his son-in-law Michele "Shelly" Gorney; his grandchildren, Kelsey, John, Catherine and Robert Derhak; and his brothers, Richard Wright, James (Susan Fitchett), Paul (Elizabeth Scanlon) and John (Gayle Scanlon). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as friends.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Al's name may be made to Adirondack Rail Preservation Society or Abraham House of Rome NY.
