He was predeceased by: his parents, Chauncey Pentland and Helen Farrell Pentland; his son Michael; and his siblings, James, Richard, Thomas and Judith Chubb.
He is survived by: his spouse Wynema "Rusty" Smith; his son Thomas; his daughter-in-law Cynthia of Gold Hill, OR; his daughter Brenda of Rochester, NY; and his granddaughters, Kristen Lycett and Elizabeth Pentland.
