He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Phillips and Margaret Middleton-Phillips; and his brothers, Michael and Mark Phillips. He is survived by: his child Nikia Hogsett; his grandchildren, Yanise Hurt, Jeffrey Jefferson Jr. and Lyniah Brown; his niece Michelle Christopher; his former wife Gloria Real; and his cousins, Audrey Little-McLeod and Milton Little. He is also survived by cousins, great nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
