He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Lee Backus and LaVerna Beers Foree; his stepfather Robert E. Foree (Sharon); and his grandson Trevor Microni. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Backus (DeForest); his sons, Stanley (Ley) and Bret Backus (Peggy Curtis); his grandchildren, Syrrah Baker (Jeremy), Devin Backus, Caleb Backus, Garrett Backus and Cooper Ford; and his great grandchildren, Zane Backus, Kennedi Backus, Grayson Crabtree and Masyn Baker.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Unadilla Center Cemetery Association, 1189 Butternut Road, Unadilla, NY 13849.
