He was predeceased by: his parents, Anita DeVost (Lord) and Ralph Gordon DeVost of Unadilla; and his brother Curt DeVost. He is survived by: his wife Lynette DeVost; his son Carter DeVost; his siblings, Christina, Clifford, Keith, Denise, Karen, Dana and Scott; his sisters-in-law, Joan and Jolene Terry; and his parents-in-law, Audrey Baker and Millard (Willa Harris).
