Steven Engelhart wrote a sympathy message

“Dear Family and Friends of Janet Chapman, Until today I had not heard of Janet's death. I am so sorry for your loss and the loss that all of us feel who came to know and love this remarkable woman. I knew Janet because of our mutual interest in preserving and bringing back to life the Beth Joseph synagogue. Over many years, we held events there and gave Janet advice and resources on building conservation, archives management, and grant funding. She was such a gem! Steven Engelhart, AARCH.”
