He was predeceased by: his parents, George McGillis and Loretta McGillis; his sister Theresa (Hank Emory); his son John McGillis; his friends, Edwina Nolan and Eddie Leonard; and his stepgrandson Scott Baker.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Gertrude Clement; his sister Janice Pryor (family: Phillip, Ruth "Midge" Labrie, Thelma Lawor); his children, Charmaine, Kip LaScala and Sharon Norman; his daughter-in-law Debbie McGillis; his grandchildren, Alex Ayotte, Kenneth LaScala and Cam McGillis; and his great grandchildren, Cynthia and Jim Mulvana (family: Ann Marie, Edward Tripp, Mary Jane, Arthur Durfee, Jackie, Scott Stiles). He is also survived by family, Jackie and Scott Stiles and family; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the Tupper Lake Rescue Squad.
