He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Shetler and Anna Shetler; his sons, Terry E. Shetler and Thomas C. Shetler; and his siblings, Eunice Johnson and Gordon Shetler.

He is survived by: his wife Beatrice V. Shetler; his daughter Judith Baker (Andrew); his granddaughters, Deborah Barnhart (Christopher) and Stephanie Cimineri (David); his great grandchild Ella Cimineri; and his brother Warren Shetler. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
