He was predeceased by: his parents, George J. Shackett and Adrienne LaBlanc Shackett; his son Robert Coleman; and his brothers, John and Robert Shackett.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah Van Gelder Shackett; his children, Suzie Ho, Jason Shackett (Sara), Eric Shackett (Riann), Kathleen Hatt, Tonia Coleman and Terri Crounse; and his siblings, George J. Shackett, Jeanne Stinson and Marie Maschewski. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
