He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph F. Rooney Sr. and Ann Owens Rooney; and his siblings, George M. Rooney and Nancy A. Sullo. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia A. Gonino Rooney; his children, Louisa Sorriento (Frank) and Stephen Rooney; his brothers, John T. Rooney (Mary Ellen) of Anaheim Hills, CA and Thomas D. Rooney (Phyllis); his siblings-in-law, Pasquale Sullo and Marylyn; his grandchildren, Rocco Sorriento, Sylvia Little (Marcus), Maria E. Sorriento, Joseph Rooney (Shrada) and John Rooney; and his great grandchildren, Miles, Cole Little and Uma Rooney.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc. (276 Pawling Ave, Troy, NY 12180). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 22nd 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery (200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871).
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Joseph F. Rooney Jr. to the Charity of one's choice.
