He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John C. Derrick Sr. and Mildred Wheeler Derrick; his husband Christiansen Derrick; his children, Samantha Ann Derrick, John C. Derrick IV and Evan James Derrick; his sibling Sara Norberg (Michael) of Concord, NH; his sibling-in-law Robert Christiansen (Deanna); and his nieces and nephews, Amanda Brodkin, Kristin Duisberg, Lance Waterfield, Eric Norberg, Katie Broers and Kyle Christiansen. He was also cherished by cousins and cousins.
