He was predeceased by: his parents, John Vaughan and Elizabeth O'Neill Vaughan; his wife Helen O'Brien Vaughan; his daughter Sheila Wellworth; and his brother William Vaughan.

He is survived by: his grandchildren, Jeremy, Cassandra, Andrew, Nicholas and Noah Wellworth.
