He was predeceased by: his parents, George Paton and Helen Kulasky Paton; and his siblings, William Paton, George Paton, Marie Paton, Ruth Cronkhite, Betty Tretola and Eleanor Hanrahan.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Betsy" Faber Paton; his children, Mark Paton (Amy) of Arizona, Ann Licciardi (Mike Chase) of Fort Plain, NY and Matthew Paton (Lynne) of Tribes Hill, NY.; his grandchildren, Christopher Licciardi (Megan), Nicole Licciardi (Matt Shufelt), Ashley Paton (Dan Sheehan), Jamy Foy (Edward) and Collin Rhodes; his great grandchildren, Ethan Licciardi, Ella Licciardi, Camden Shufelt, Taylor Foy and Payton Foy; and his brother John Paton. He is also survived by Nieces, nephews and cousins.
