She was predeceased by: her son James Victor Matthews. She is survived by: her children, Edward J. Matthews Jr. MD, Joyce Boose, Jeffrey and Philip Matthews; her grandchildren, Jeffrey, Joseph, Darla, Jillian, Katharine Matthews and Lauren Boose; her great grandchild Ella Dubin; and her nieces and nephews, Jackie Branowski, Steve (Sandra Troscianecki), Gayle (Martin Picinich) and Judy (Richard Thacther).
