Eleanor G. Van Ness Obituary
We are sad to announce that on August 27, 2024, at the age of 89, Eleanor G. Van Ness of Three Mile Bay, New York, born in Watertown, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her mother Grace Reed (Pennock); and her husband Marino Richard Van Ness. She is survived by: her father Ward Reed; her daughter Rhonda; her son-in-law John Veith of Cape Vincent, NY; her granddaughter Brook Soule (Kyle) of Westbrook, Maine; her great grandchildren, Viera, Adeline and Charlotte Garrett; her sister Elsie Lanning; her niece Vicki Hubbard (James); her grandson Kevin Garrett; and her pet Riley. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 30th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home (237 William St, Dexter, NY 13634). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 31st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Three Mile Bay Methodist Church (8580 NY-12E, Three Mile Bay, NY 13693). A committal service was held on Saturday, August 31st 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Dexter Cemetery. A burial was held on Saturday, August 31st 2024 at the same location.
Donations in Eleanor's memory may be made to the Lyme Central Scholarship Fund in her memory or to the Three Mile Bay Methodist Church or Three Mile Bay Fire Department.
