He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Slate and Genevieve Hubbard Slate; his wife Ann Tuttle; his siblings, Edwin, Max, Terry and Genevieve Peer; and his son-in-law Russell Benton.
He is survived by: his children, Randi McCarthy (Mike), Edwin Slate (Jenny), Arnold Slate (Judy) and Tina Benton; his granddaughter Shannon Slate; his nephew Alex Peer (Sheri); and his sister Linda Taylor. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
