He was predeceased by: his wife Janet Ann Mason; his parents, William Lynch and Nettie Lynch; his grandson William M. Lynch Jr.; and his brothers, Ernest and Richard.

He is survived by: his children, Crystal M. Lynch, Chester A. Lynch, William J. Lynch and Richard G. Lynch; and his siblings, Chester Lynch, Lucy White, Robert Lynch, George Lynch, James Lynch, Katherine Jessop, Susan Smart and Deborah Burton. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
