It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Salvatore Mariano of Syracuse, New York, who passed away on January 13, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mariano and Maria "Mary" Mariano (La Macchia); and his siblings, Santa Catania, Rose Cirino, Anna Stagnitta, Dominick, Anthony and Joseph Mariano.
He is survived by: his wife Rosemary (Ippolito); and his children, Mary Jeavons (Christa), Sherrie Sterlace (Mark), Thomas Mariano (Stacy), Valerie Fedele (Mark) and Naomi Pruitt (Cliff). He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Thomas J. Pirro Jr. Funeral Home (3401 Vickery Rd, Syracuse, NY 13212). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Salvatore's name may be made to Syracuse Adult and Teen Challenge, 124 Furman Street, Syracuse, NY 13205 or a charity of one's choice.
