He was predeceased by: his son Michael Slater; his sisters, Irene Pawlina and Rosie Smith Roy; his children, Diane Keller (Slater), Brian Slater (Tina) and Robert Slater (Kelly); his stepson Craig Trudell (Kim); his grandchildren, Christina, Ashleigh, Elisse, Heather, Stephanie, Summer, Matthew, Aidan, Evan, Caitlyn and Leah; his great grandchildren, Luke and Emma; and his sisters, Linda O'Brien, Ginny Cuyle, Naomi Bevier, Betty Goodwin and Emmy Peters.
