He is survived by: his children, Richard Vastag, Jr. and Susan Vastag (James Evans); his grandchildren, Jonathan Ramsden and Alexis Vastag; his half-sisters, Nancy Weltin of Ohio and Pat Buckalew of Ohio; his aunt Shirley Frazier; and his nephew Michael Vastag.
