He was predeceased by: his father Carl. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his mother Vivian Hiley; his stepmother Susan Slater; his siblings, Becky Leubner (Shum), Gretchen Slater and Gregory Slater; his stepchildren, Ian Rickert-Dellios (Eléna), Tiffany Rickert (John) and Colin Rickert; and his grandson John Christopher Higgins III. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
