He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph M. Shaw and Annie M. Shaw. He is survived by: his wife Sanrose Shaw; his children, Melvin J. Shaw II, Kenneth Rivers, Donald Rivers, Shannel Harkar, Shauntay Rivers and Lakisa Walker; his siblings, Josephine Wagner (Robert), David H. Shaw and Allen F. Shaw; and his grandsons, Kayden and Kingston. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
