It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Maureen A. Mather of Syracuse, New York, who passed away on January 18, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Norbert F O'Brien Sr. and Jeanette O'Brien (Bloss); her brother Norbert O'Brien Jr.; her husband Michael Mather; her son Stephen Mather; and her brother-in-law Michael Quinn.

She is survived by: her daughter Jeanette Kelley (Mather); her grandson Liam Kelley; and her siblings, Kathleen Ewart (Joseph), Joan Sweet (Ernest), Mary Quinn, Margaret Hal (Craig), James O'Brien (Therese) and Deacon William O'Brien. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Butler Badman Funeral Home (4504 W Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse, NY 13215). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at the Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery.
