Mary Black McArdle Obituary
We are sad to announce that on April 7, 2022, at the age of 97, Mary Black McArdle of Syracuse, New York, born in Utica, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph J. Senoff and Helena M. Senoff (Steinhorst); her sister Joan Ceplius (Stanley) of Garden Grove, CA; and her stepson Joseph McArdle Jr.. She is survived by: her children, John Black (Patricia) of Syracuse and Nancy Watts (Roger) of Grand Island; her stepdaughters, Pauline Saraceni (Michael) of North Syracuse and Cheryl Hayes (Daniel) of North Syracuse; her grandchildren, Kathleen McArdle, Patti Denbleyker (Brian), Christina Trease (Erick), Kimberly Roaldi (Andrew), Allison Haimila (Kenneth), John Paul Hayes (Renee), Michael Saraceni (Madeleine), Stephanie Campese (Brian), Courtney Black, Timothy Watts, Ashley Kogut (Jay), Christopher Black, Elizabeth Black and Caroline Black; and her pet Lil Bit. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren; 11 surviving nieces and nephews; several great and great-great nieces and nephews; many friends.
She beat COVID-19 in early 2021 and was still continuing to practice her walking at the time of her passing. The family would like to extend its gratitude to the staff of Elderwood at Liverpool who cared for Mary during her final years, including through the challenging first years of the pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory can be made to the Yeazel Catholic Education Endowment Fund at the Central New York Community Foundation.
