He was predeceased by: his parents, John Slagel and Mary Slagel (Grimm); his wife Rosemary; and his son-in-law Randal Lundblad. He is survived by: his daughters, Sharon DeCirce (Greg), Susan Lundblad and Michelle Walsh (Tim); his grandchildren, Michael, Gregory, Nicholas DeCirce, Trevor (Jessica), Laura Lundblad, Sara and Shane Walsh; and his sisters, Marion Skowron and Carol Burak. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
