She was predeceased by: her husband Donald T. Higgins, Jr.; and her son Steven Higgins, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Brenda Hunter of Virginia, June Ackerson of Syracuse, Tammy Poirier (Todd Gerbsch) of Marcellus and John Higgins, Sr. (Gail); and her siblings, Irene Sobotka of Tennessee, Walter Buck (Betty) of East Syracuse and Robert Buck (Marilyn) of Florida. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; and five great great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
