She is survived by: her daughters, Julianna Lynn Shatraw, Mariah Elizabeth Spak and Eden Belle LaRue; her siblings, Linda R. LaRue, Shawna McGlynn and Devyn McGlynn; and her parents, Phillip J. LaRue and Judi L. Behnke (Simons).

As Karen loved children and taking care of them, the family asks for donations to the Diaper Bank of CNY in her name in lieu of flowers, so she can keep helping those she loved the most.
