He was predeceased by: his son John; his parents, Ellen Solan and Michael Solan; and his siblings, James Solan, Ellen Fahy and Alice O'Malley.
He is survived by: his wife Bridget Solan (Walsh); his children, Cathy Monaghan (Brendan), Kevin Solan (Lisa), Eddie Solan (Amy), Bridget Sammon (Joe) and Ellen Solan; his grandchildren, Matthew, Mark, Molly, Emily and Allison; his brother Michael Solan (Kathy); his cousin Patrick Solan; and his sisters-in-law, Mai Spence (Tom), Eileen Dineen (Martin) and Mary Walsh. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
