He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Ann; and his brothers, Michael, Harry and Patrick. He is survived by: his wife Debbie; his children, John Jr., Thomas (Vicky) and Ashley Fifield; and his siblings, William (Cindy), Ellen Phinney, Kathy, MaryPat Beaudry (James) and Penny Webster (Greg). He is also survived by many grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
