He was predeceased by: his significant other Joan Geppinger; and his sister Mary Schafer. He is survived by: his niece Mary Lynn Murphy (Terrence) of Syracuse; his nephews, John Schafer (Arianna) and Gregory Schafer; and his great-niece Nicole Schafer Farino (Jason) of Liverpool.
