It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Johannes Smid (Syracuse, New York), born in Amsterdam, New York, who passed away on March 11, 2019, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his siblings, Heine, Auke, Dineke, Bini and Geertje.
He is survived by: his children, Derk (Amy), Frank (Heidi), Janneke Roberts (Clayt) and Hans (Mary); his grandchildren, Jacob (Lexie), Nathan, Zachary, Jonathan, Matthew, Kathryn, Benjamin J. and Samuel; and his brother Jaap (Joke). He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
