It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Viola Phelan (Syracuse, New York), who passed away on December 20, 2019, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Edward F. Phelan, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Mary Phelan, John Phelan (Mary), Edward Phelan (Kathleen) and Joanne Chilton (Mark); her grandchildren, Carrie Snyder (Jeff), David Flewelling (Nicole), James Abert (Jesseca Barrette), Melissa Kowalewski (Scott), Kevin Phelan (Meaghan), Christina Phelan (Martin Strait), Mike (Jordanne Conklin), Joe Phelan, Becki and Dan Chilton; her great grandchildren, Anthony, Victoria, Audriana, Adeline, Blake, Hadley, Tatum, Grant, Connor and Baby Phelan; and her sister Beatrice Hettler. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
