With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joan M. Foland of Syracuse, New York, born in Providence, Rhode Island, who passed away on January 4, 2023 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Lowell Benjamin Merrill and Svea Hallberg Merrill; her husband Lowell J. Foland; her children, Todd Foland of Powhatan, VA, Amy O'Rourke (Dennis) of Marcellus, NY and Louise Hoerter of Midlothian, VA.; her brother William B. Merrill; her son Peter C.; her grandchildren, Mark, Jody Foland, Michael, Stephanie O'Rourke, Peter and Kristin Fitzgerald; and her great grandchildren, Carter, Noelle and Addison O'Rourke. She was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fingers Lake Organ.
