It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joan (Berger) Abbatiello (Syracuse, New York), born in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, who passed away on May 19, 2020, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband John; and her sister June Perkins. She is survived by: her children, John Abbatiello (Laura) of Warners and Dawn Leduc (Murray) of Camillus; her grandchildren, Amanda and Ryan; her great grandchild Mia; and her brother Frederick Berger.

“Joan was always upbeat and smiling. She and my sister, Jackie Mariani, were residents at St. Camillus for many years. When Jackie died, in May 2017, Joan painted a beautiful picture for me in memory of J. She always had a smiling word to offer when ever I saw her.
